Kiat Lim meets with Carlos Corberán and first-team captains at the Ciutat Esportiva
The new president of Valencia CF has held meetings with various departments at the Club’s offices
Dani Parejo was the matchwinner for Valencia CF against RCD Mallorca, scoring twice from the penalty spot in the 2-0 win at Mestalla. The two strikes came either side of half time, in the 44th and 57th minutes, and saw him put the ball to both the goalkeeper's right and left.
It was the first time that the VCF captain had scored twice from penalties in a single game. As well as the three points, the brace from 11 metres also gave Parejo a new milestone reached in his professional career: 25 goals from penalty kicks.
The Spaniard has proven to be clinical from the spot, with a conversion rate of over 78% in all competitions. Some 21 of his penalties in LaLiga have been scored as a Valencia CF player, and only three players have a higher amount than Parejo: Mario Kempes with 25, and Lubo Penev and David Villa, with 23 each.
Whilst he is the first choice penalty taker for the club, Parejo has also handed over the responsibility to teammates in need of a boost at times.
"It's always a reason to be satisfied when you score a goal, and in this case it gave the team the three points -which is the important thing," he told VCF Media after the game.
